Ruthie Cherry Fine Art

This gallery – brimming with colorful, original art – has a special emphasis on local and regional artists. The ambience encourages unhurried viewing of the beautiful, intriguing and sometimes humorous works on display. Here, no one needs to feel intimidated by “fine art.” In fact, the gallery’s slogan is “At Home With Fine Art” because that is how owner Ruthie Cherry wants visitors to feel.

Among more than a dozen local artists featured at the gallery is Cherry’s husband, John R. Cherry III, known internationally for the “Ernest P. Worrell” commercials and movies he developed and directed. Formally trained at the prestigious Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Fla., Cherry paints in both watercolor and oils.

The gallery also showcases works created by selected artists from across the U.S. – and holds an exclusive for selling Bob Ransley paintings in middle- and western-Tennessee. European and former-Soviet Union art is also represented, with the gallery having earned an exclusive Nashville-area retail relationship with a renowned authority on Russian investment art.
