Bourbon Cranberry Relish

Easy Bourbon Cranberry Relish - cooked in the oven, not the stovetop!

Loveless Cafe Pitmaster George Harvell created this outstanding recipe and it’s quickly become one our favorite things about Fall. Of course, we serve it every year on Thanksgiving, but it’s outstanding on more than just turkey! Try it with pork loin, salmon or even grilled chicken! It’s so good, you may just want to eat it on a spoon – or a biscuit!!

 

 

 

Bourbon Cranberry Relish

 

Ingredients:

 

3 bags Fresh Cranberries

2 1/2 cups Granulated Sugar

1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon

1 tablespoon Bourbon Whiskey

1 Fresh Orange, zested

 

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Sort the fresh cranberries to remove all unripe or bruised berries. Spread cranberries evenly on a two inch deep baking pan or a roasting pan and sprinkle the cinnamon evenly over the top. Follow with the granulated sugar and then the orange zest. Slice the zested orange into four slices and lay over the berries. Bake until the berries swell and pop, approximately 30-45 minutes. Remove from the oven and squeeze the juice from the orange slices and discard them. Mix the berries well before drizzling the bourbon over the top. Return to the oven for another 30 minutes. Remove and let cool.

 

Note:

This cranberry relish will keep for weeks in refrigeration. Additionally, you can choose to add more or less bourbon depending on your flavor preference.
