You know us for our hot, flaky, buttery biscuits over here at the Loveless, but what you may not know is that we have a few tricks up our sleeve when it comes to using our popular Biscuit Mix in other recipes. The fact that we’re biscuit experts (check out our traditional Loveless Biscuits recipe, Garlic Cheese Biscuits and Herb & Cheddar Biscuits) in essence makes us experts on scones as well, seeing as a scone is just a fancy biscuit. That’s right, a fancy biscuit.
We have several recipes that use our Loveless Cafe Biscuit Mix and are perfect for any breakfast, brunch, or breakfast-for-dinner occasion. Serve any of these hot out of the oven and try to resist the urge to devour them as a midnight snack (or just disregard that last part and devour away). Here are some sweet and savory recipes, all using one simple biscuit mix, that you’ll absolutely love.
Basically the perfect excuse to eat a Snickerdoodle for breakfast (with chocolate chips, nonetheless… why has no one done this yet? We’re making a mental note for a new recipe). These scones go great with a cupa joe or as an after-dinner treat. Serve with butter, preserves, or eat them as they are! Click here for the recipe.
As Chef Bart says in the step-by-step video for this sweet recipe, “a little bit of sugar, a whole lotta spice… makes for a happy life”. We tend to agree with him on this one. Watch the video after the jump!
These cookies were a favorite of our Loveless Cafe employee cookie contest. The soft cookies with maple cream cheese icing are hard to resist. Here’s the recipe.
Use any “green” you want in these savory scones, just don’t skimp on the cheese and bacon! Unlike some other scones that are just fine served at room temperature, we think these are best hot out of the oven. Nothing beats the aroma of bacon cooking and when you add sharp cheddar and buttery pastry dough, you simply can’t go wrong! Make an out-of-this-world sandwich by slicing in half, adding a dollop of dijon mustard and some thinly sliced ham. Here’s the recipe.
These delicious pinwheel cookies are as easy as they are impressive. 4 ingredients make this one a go-to for parties, quick snacks for kids or a little indulgence for yourself. Find out how simple they are here.
With Country Sausage in the mix, you know these are going to be a hit in your household. They’re perfect for breakfast and are an absolute must-have for game day parties. Here’s the recipe.
Here’s another sweet scone to tantalize your tastebuds. The melted butterscotch morsels throughout the buttery, flaky dough is hard to beat. These treats are a great on those mornings when a bowl of cereal simply won’t cut it. Serve alongside a mimosa and hot coffee and indulge in a breakfast that’s instantly made special. Keep them on hand for when those sweet cravings hit later on in the day, too! Find the recipe here.
Perfectly savory, delightfully fluffy and sure to disappear off the dinner table faster than you can say “pass the butter,” these little babies are sure to please! Check out the recipe here.
