We were a couple of Yankees, escaping from a cold spring in Minnesota,
headed for Nashville for a wedding a few years ago. We stopped in a little
town in southern Illinois and found ourselves at a beans and rib supper at
the firehouse. We were sitting next to a man with a Loveless Cafe t-shirt.
Well, he sang your praises so eloquently that we headed for the Loveless
Cafe as soon as we reached Nashville. We spent a heavenly morning there,
marveling at the biscuits and waving to Carol Faye through her window as
she was wrist-deep in biscuit mix. The Southern hospitality and lickin-good
food were a revelation for us. Looking at your friendly website, with its
flickering neon sign and good-enough-to-eat photos of those wonderful
biscuits and jams brings it (almost) all back. Sure, it would be great to
visit again, but ’til then we’ll just go ‘home’ to your website for a nice
visit!
